meet my Partner

I recently signed up for the Bead Peeps Swap n Hop (see previous post).
It is getting close to the time to send out our beads and prezzies to our partner. But first I have to tell you about my partner in crime for this event.

Inge is an amazing lamp-work artist. She MAKES. GLASS. BEADS.  *sigh* ( love these.)

She is a lifelong crafter with many interests; pottery, stained glass, weaving, jewellery making, and many other handcrafts. Beginning as a bead stringer she fell in love with hand made glass beads while at a glass and bead show. Hooked on this idea, she took one class and that was it, she found her passion.
Inge is a constant student , regularly taking classes from various lamp work artists, in order to perfect her craft, and she travels all over North America to do so.
She says that bead making is meditation for her and is loving the variety of beads she can create by playing with new techniques and trying different colour combinations.
I cannot wait to see what she sends me in our swap.

It's here;  it's  BEAD SOUP showtime. This is going to be one GIGANTIC PARTY  Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been up to lately.  Lori Anderson , our fearless leader (there are over 500 of us) assigned us partners in March; we then sent our bead soup mixes to each other and once received, we then spent the interim weeks planning, designing, creating and assembling.  The requirement was to use the focal bead, the clasp , and as many beads as we desired; adding if necessary supplies and beads from our stash (and we all have one), to create a piece of jewellery or art or whatever took our fancy.  (or wherever our muse led us). Bead Peeps swap n hop

well today is THE day. It's reveal time for the 2017 bead peeps swap n hop event.  Organized by our hostess Linda Anderson of Cherry on Top Design Co.   http://fromTheBeadBoard.blogspot.com  its a fun way to meet new beady peeps and to challenge ourselves by relying on someone else's bead picks for us.  This is the first time I have participated in this swap .  *warning Long read ahead * just scroll through the pix if you don't want to read it all. My partner is a polymer clay artist, Nicole Rennell from Massachusetts, USA. She sent me an amazing example of her latest works -Faux Labradorite, plus an assortment of beady goodies to accent and enhance my design.  just check them out.  Hand made Faux Labradorite with faux pewter frame look at the size of it.
